The best-feeling flipper under $150 we've tested. Light enough to forget, solid enough to trust.
The pitch
Titanium handles, ceramic ball bearings and a premium powder steel used to be a $250 combination. This knife packs all three for $129, in a 3.1 oz package that disappears into a pocket. The question is whether corners got cut somewhere you can't see on a spec sheet.
What we liked, what we didn't
Pros
- Glass-smooth action, out of the box
- S35VN held an edge through a month of boxes
- 3.1 oz, so it never drags your pocket down
- Deep-carry clip, nearly invisible
Cons
- Titanium handles scuff fast
- Flipper tab is slick when wet
- Clip is not reversible for lefties
Living with it
We carried it daily for 31 days: opening boxes, breaking down cardboard, slicing rope, and one regrettable attempt at a sandwich. The detent is crisp, the lockup is rock solid with no blade play, and the action is the kind you'll catch yourself flicking in meetings.
Edge retention was the surprise. After the first two weeks it still shaved arm hair; a few passes on a ceramic rod brought it straight back.
